Well, we have arrived to the page where the "guiris" nightmares live. That is to say "indefinido" and "imperfect" past tenses. I really try to help you out with this, but though there is a grammatic explanation about the differences between them, i´m afraid it would be just practise and practise what will lead you to the knowing of the appropiate use of one or the other form. That´s something that spaniards "just know" and it´s not easy to explain.

I will write here an alfabetical list of verbs we use very often and try to explain which form to choose :"indefinido tense" or a "imperfect tense", depending on what you want to mean.
